PUMAgri, the Universal Mobile platform for Agriculture
PUMAgri aims to offer farmers a solution flexible and innovative Robotics challenges of competitiveness, protection of the environment and reduction of labour penibilites.
The objective of this project is to create an intelligent machine of a new generation that will be autonomous and able to adapt to difficult conditions, with more power than current robots. PUMAgri will contribute to an improvement in the quality of life of operators: reduction of the painfulness of the agricultural tasks and significant reduction in the quantities of herbicides used.
7 partners thus embarked on a 3 year term, around a EUR 3.5 million programme to agricultural Robotics: SITIA is the bearer of the project. The consortium brings together players of Robotics: SITIA, Cemagref (63) and Effidence (63), experts from the agricultural world: cooperative TERRENA (44) and the Chambre régionale d’Agriculture de Bretagne (35) as well as specialists in vision: LARIS – University of Angers (49) and Visio nerve (49).
This project is based on the 20th call for projects of the Fund Unique interministériel (FUI). It is accompanied by accredited by the world competitiveness of the plant VÉGÉPOLYS and co-selected by the pole VIA MECA.
OBJECTIVES
PUMAgri, a project to achieve 500 agricultural robots by 2023.
The main challenges faced by PUMAgri are autonomy, the perception of the plant and agricultural performance. Output of the project, the consortium seeks deployment of its robotic in channels of market gardening, viticulture, arboriculture and even crop, with 500 machines sold by 2023. More than 50 direct jobs would result from the PUMAgri project.
